Wayline Care

Medical travel to China

Know where you are going before you fly for care.

We help patients from the US and abroad find out whether treatment in China makes sense for them. If it does, we coordinate the records, hospital review, entry paperwork and the trip home.

Is this right for your case?

The trip is only worth it for some patients. We would rather tell you early.

Worth a closer look

  • Planned surgery you can fly for and recover from abroad
  • Cancer care where you want another team's opinion
  • Long waits or high self-pay prices at home
  • A clear diagnosis and records you can share

Think hard first

  • You rely on Medicare, which generally will not pay
  • No doctor at home can take over aftercare
  • You have a business or legal dispute involving China
  • Your doctor has concerns about you flying

We do not arrange

  • Organ transplants of any kind
  • Unproven cell or "miracle" treatments
  • Surrogacy or sex selection
  • Emergency care. Call your local emergency number.

How it works

Six stops, and you can stop at any of them

Nothing is booked until you have the plan and the estimate in writing.

  1. Send your records

Reports, scans and your current treatment plan. We help you work out what is missing and what needs an English or Chinese translation.

  2. Hospital review

We take the case to the international office of a hospital that treats your condition. Its doctors decide whether they can help. We do not make that call.

  3. Written plan and estimate

You get the proposed plan, likely length of stay and a cost estimate in writing, and you check them with your own doctor at home.

  4. Entry paperwork

The hospital letter, visa documents and a travel plan for you and anyone coming with you.

  5. In China

Airport pickup, interpreter, appointments, deposits and payment. Someone who knows the hospital system stays reachable while you are there.

  6. Home and follow-up

Discharge records in English, a medication list, and a handover to the doctor who will look after you at home.

How to read prices, deposits and insurance

Before you decide

The risks we will not skip over

US travel advisory

The State Department rates mainland China Level 2, exercise increased caution. The advisory, reissued September 4, 2026, warns about exit bans, which can stop someone leaving the country.

Payment comes first

The advisory says hospitals generally want payment before treatment and ask for a deposit before admission. Plan for this even in an emergency.

Insurance gaps

Medicare generally does not pay for care outside the US. Check any private plan in writing, and buy cover for medical evacuation.

Complications after you land

Problems can appear after you are home. Agree who will look after you there before you leave.
